Ear pins and butterflies are made of solid Sterling silver. This 95% tin Pewter is the fourth most expensive metal in common use after platinum, gold and silver. Because solid metal is used the surface of your starfish earrings will never flake like a silver plated earrings. To clean just wash with warm soapy water and occasionally use a silver cloth on the silver components.
